In front of a large crowd and with temperatures reaching the high 90’s, Aaron King qualified for his first 25-lap national twins main event by winning his semi by almost a whole strait away. Aaron is a third year expert and has attempted to qualify for Grand National Twins races numerous times on other brands, however, on his first ride aboard the American Agip sponsored Lloyd Brothers Motorsports Aprilia he accomplished his goal. Aaron finished a very respectable 12th place when the checkered flag signaled the end of the 25th lap.
“It felt great to finally get that out of the way” said Aaron in reference to making the main. “Now it is time to start working our way forward and see if we can get on the podium here soon. The bike handled very well and I am sure with more laps I will get more comfortable on it. It sure is fast down the straits. I can’t wait for Indy”
“We really owe a lot to Kevin Atherton. He put a lot of effort into developing the bike this year. Unfortunately, now that they are working much better, Kevin got hurt and cannot capitalize on all of his efforts. He was really excited to hear how well Aaron finished and we look forward to having him back at the races working with the team” said team co-owner David Lloyd.
“We really owe so much to our marketing partners and team members as well” echoed team co-owner Mike Lloyd. “Dave Gamble has worked so hard and so many hours on these bike, it is rewarding to see them finish well with a new young gun rider.”
